In order to carry out in-depth study of Party history, lead young students to fulfill their original mission in reviewing the Party’s 100 years of struggle and contribute their youth to the realization of the dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the school/hospital Party committee decided to set up a social practice team among Party members and students at school, which to establish a series of Party building activities named "Learn Red History, Contribute Youthful Strength". On the morning of June 24^th, a grand opening ceremony was held at the Alumni Square in the West District of Chengguan Campus. 

This event is mainly to use the rich Red resources in Longyuan, Gansu Province to lead everyone to review the touching stories, understand the glorious history, learn the original mission of the Party and carry on the red genes. Through learning history, the students’ confidence should be increased, morality should be preserved, thoughts should be enlightened. Once they put what they have learnt from the history into practice, they will break new ground.

 

The opening ceremony officially began at 7:30am. Li Liuhao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School/Hospital of Stomatology, Ding Shaochun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Li Zhige, Deputy Dean, and all members from the Party branch of the school and the practice team attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Huang Xin, a 2018 undergraduate.

The ceremony began with raising the national flag and singing the national anthem. In full spirit, the flag guard phalanx marched into the scene to raise the national flag, and all the teachers and students sang the national anthem of the People's Republic of China in unison.

Then the host, Huang Xin introduced the background and purpose of these series of activities. Wang Lijie brought a wonderful speech with the theme "Golden Birthday, Forging Forward", which aims to express the mission and responsibility of contemporary university student Party members.

As the leading teacher of the activities, Comrade Ding Shaochun put forward 3 major points for the team which were safety, content and review, and wished the event a complete success.

In his speech, Comrade Li Liuhao, secretary of the Party Committee of the school, reminded the students to protect themselves against the epidemic, expressed expectations for the progress and good results of the activities, and announced the official opening of the Party building series of “Learn Red History, Contribute Youthful Strength”.

 

 

 

After the opening ceremony, the social practice team interviewed the two old Party members of the school, Tang Shaoqing and Li Xianglin. The seniors told the team about their rich personal experiences, and brought everyone back to the past eventful years.

 

The more you learn, the more you know, and the more you are able to do it. The students benefited a lot from today’s activities. They all stated that university student Party members should actively play a pioneering and exemplary role, strive for constant self-improvement. They are determined to study hard, meanwhile widely participate in various activities. They will insert their enthusiasm and vitality into the Party to keep the youth of the Party forever, and contribute their strength to the Party in the early future.

So far, the opening ceremony of the "Learn Red History, Contribute Youthful Strength" had been accomplished. At the same time, it also means the beginning of the entire series of activities. I believe that under the joint efforts of everyone, this event can be carried out successfully. It is hoped that the students will further understand the spirit of the Party through this event and foster themselves into outstanding contemporary university students with cultural and scientific attainments.
